Dr. Sadie Gal Sanders was born and raised in a small town community in the Midwest. She was a bookworm, but also loved being outside and playing every sport possible. Even as a child, she had an appreciation for the complexities of the human body and the welfare of others and planned to study medicine. After attending Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for undergraduate, she transferred to Logan College of Chiropractic and graduated in 2009 as salutatorian of her class with honors of Clinical Appreciation, Excellence in Diagnostics and Radiology, and Dean’s List all 10 semesters.
She started practice at the age of 24 as an associate in Southern Florida, gaining experience with caring for athletes such as rugby and football players, runners, golfers, and CrossFitters and furthering her knowledge of caring for patients involved in auto accidents. She relocated to Los Angeles in 2011 and became the owner of a successful multidisciplinary holistic practice shortly afterwards. During this time, she honed in her skills with caring for all types of patients from newborns to geriatrics, couch potatoes to elite weightlifters, stressed out parents, hard workers, and everything in between and quickly became known as one of the best chiropractors in the San Fernando Valley. She was active with additional continuing education and completed The Wellness Practitioner program from the International Chiropractic Association and expanded her studies in pregnancy, pediatrics, nutrition, and additional holistic therapies.
After moving closer to family in the St. Louis area in 2020, Dr. Sanders began teaching at her alma mater Logan College of Chiropractic with a passion for helping students step into clinical practice with the proper skills and the confidence to back them up. She continues to teach part-time as adjunct faculty while operating an online course on stress management skills and practicing at 3 Pillars Health.
When she is not busy with her several jobs, she loves spending time with her husband and family, working out at the local CrossFit gym, and anything to do with dogs, especially her sassy bulldogs.
"Over the years in practice, I worked with so many different types of patients and got some really great results. The tricky cases always seemed to be with patients who had stress in areas of their lives other than only musculoskeletal health. When I took the Certified Wellness Practitioner courses early in my career, I learned how the body responds to emotional stress such as anxiety or to chemical stress such as a poor diet in the same way it responds to a physical injury like an auto accident. But over the years, I saw what I learned come to life with my patients. Those that got the most incredible results were addressing all aspects of their health - physical, emotional, and chemical. During this time, I was able to work with some individuals in a more holistic way and refer some others to co-manage with other providers, but I came to realize that there was a real opportunity to change lives by approaching patient health with a holistic, all-encompassing evaluation and care plan. So, when I relocated to the St. Louis area, I took the time to begin my Functional Medicine Certification. I also continued to work through some incredible human behavior and neuro-linguistic programming tools with my friend and mentor Nicola Salter and several other gurus. By adding these two pillars of health to my style of practice, 3 Pillars Health was created!"
Once upon a time, Dr. Sanders was completely against using energy techniques in her former practice and would not allow her practitioners with legitimate training and certifications to advertise their services in her clinic. One day, after being treated by one of the massage therapists at the clinic, they were discussing the incredible results that she was getting under their latest care plan. The therapist admitted that she had been incorporating Reiki therapy during Dr. Sanders's massages! This started to open her mind to considering this type of care in the clinic. It took YEARS, but she finally came around and allowed her certified practitioners to offer it to patients! The shift in mindset came when patients began gushing about the incredible experiences they had during the Reiki sessions and Dr. Sanders saw a major improvement in the patients' musculoskeletal health as well.
It took lots of time and some serious convincing, but Dr. Sanders earned her Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Practitioner Certification in 2018 and admits it is a great tool in her practitioner's bag!
Reiki is a Japanese Healing Art and Usui Shiki Ryoho has been in practice for over 100 years. Its philosophy is similar to that of chiropractic in its belief that alignment of the body will create an environment for the patient to heal. This alignment is of the body's "universal life energy" organized into what can be called energy pockets or the "chakras." It has no religious affiliation and requires nothing from the patient besides an open mind and a willingness to let go!
